Visiting Daddy at work

August 18th, 2009
Today was our first trip to visit Daddy at work. We showed up right at the end of the sales meeting so everyone could meet Logan and Emma. After I fed the babies, we went to Chili's for lunch. We'll have to do that again soon!

Here are my sweet babies getting ready to go see Daddy....

Girls Day Out!

Tuesday August 4th, 2009
Today was the first day that I took the babies out by myself! Anna & Lily and Jen & Amelia met Logan, Emma & I at Camino Real for lunch. It was great to get out of the house for a while and have some girl time! We were quite the spectacle at the restaurant with the three of us and our 4 little ones (three of them being in car seats)!

After lunch, we all went back to Anna's house to feed the babies and chat. It was a great day and I hope that we get to do it again soon!

Here are all the babies at Anna's after the carride from the restaurant. Isn't it amazing what a five minute car ride will do?

Noah came home from school to a house full of babies! Here's a great picture of all the kiddos!

Two Month Doctor's Appointment & Shots

Monday August 3rd, 2009
Today was the babies' two month doctor's appointment. We did their normal routine of getting weighed, temperature taken, head circumference and length measured. Logan is now 12lbs 2oz and 22 inches long. Emma is 10lbs 12oz and 21 inches long. I cannot believe how much they've grown!

We talked to the doctor about Emma's acid reflux and also that Logan was exhibiting some of the same signs, so she put him on Zantac as well. They both take zantac twice a day and have to sit up for at least 30 minutes after they eat.

After Dr. Cade did her "checkup", the nurse came in to give them their dreaded two months shots! Daddy had to leave the room for this :) I got to help hold them while the nurse gave them the shots - lucky me! Emma did really well - just had her big cry and then we handed her off to Daddy to comfort her. Logan let out one of those breath holding, blood curdling screams and then he was good. I was proud of myself for holding it together!

When we left the doctor's office, I thought we were doing pretty good. Both babies seemed to be doing just fine! We started them on tylenol as soon as we got home and gave it to them every 4 hours for 24 hours. Little did we know that at about 7 PM (about 4 hours after their shots) that Emma would have a meltdown. She cried uncontrollably for a couple of hours which is so NOT like her. Daddy was finally able to console her by humming to her. Logan didn't really have any issues other than just wanting to be held a little more than usual.

The Doctor said that some babies react differently than others and we saw that first hand today. They will get shots again at their next appointment at 4 months, so we'll do tylenol before we go and be prepared for another long night! Hopefully Emma will do better next time!

1st Visit to the Littons

Saturday August 1st, 2009
Today was Emma and Logan's first trip to the Litton house. We had a great dinner, and of course, no trip to the Littons is complete without a "friendly" card game :) Spades was the game of the night.

I don't think Logan and Emma were set down the entire time we were there. The babies' "cousins" - Stephanie, Emily, Sam and Kristin - had a blast holding and playing with them.

The Litton house will be come their home away from home when Mommy goes back to work. "Aunt" Jami will be taking care of them Tuesday-Friday as needed and I know they will be in great hands! I can't think of anyone that I would trust more to care for them. Plus as you can see, she has some great helpers :)

Look Mom I found my hand!

Emma found her hand! It's very cute because she wants to put it in her mouth, but sometimes her hand doesn't cooperate and she'll start crying :) Too cute!

Lily and her little friends

Saturday July 4th, 2009
Anna and Lily stopped by today and brought us lunch - from Blue Coast Burrito. It was super yummy! Lily is definitely going to be Logan and Emma's cool older friend. I'm so excited for them to be able to grow up together - BFF's for sure :)

Lily was a great help today. She helped put the babies' pacifiers in their mouths when they cried. It's a tough job keeping up with two and it was so cute when they both started spitting their pacifiers out and Lily stood there for a second and held one in with one hand and the other in with her other hand. Unfortunately we were too slow and couldn't get a picture, but it was very sweet!

Here's Lily with her two new little friends:

Cassie and Kyle come to visit

Friday July 3rd, 2009
Cassie and Kyle came to visit Logan and Emma today. They are in town for the 4th of July weekend. Cassie has been out of town in Virginia all summer working at the plant and Kyle has been in Knoxville taking summer classes at UT, so this was the first chance they've had to come meet the babies. Hopefully it won't be too long before they can come back again!

They were both naturals at holding Logan and Emma. They'll make great parents one day! Of course, one day a long time from now :)

1 Month Doctor's Appointment

Thursday July 2nd, 2009
Well, the babies are a little over a month old now and had their 1 month check up today. I cannot believe how much they've grown. Logan is now 9lbs and Emma is 7lbs 11oz. Their next appointment will be at 2 months old and they will get their first set of shots :( Momma is not looking forward to that!
Here's a picture of Emma and Logan with their pediatrician, Dr. Cade:
